When I was assigned this project, it existed as a desktop-only website template that was being used by GMC, Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, and Vauxhall. I was asked to work backwards from the mobile-first standard, and adapt the existing website to work responsively on all device sizes.


I designed a responsive solution without making any changes to the desktop solution, and usability tested it on mobile and tablet sizes to be sure they performed as well as the desktop solution already was.


I worked closely with the development team to implement the template design, which was handed off to OEM-specific visual designers to apply each OEM brand.

CDK regional websites

Project goal
To make GM's regional dealer website template responsive without changing the layout of the existing desktop template.
Project outcome
Template was made responsive and adopted by all of GM's brands: Chevy, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, and Vauxhall.

I was sole designer on this project. I was responsible for designing the template's layout; not the visual design for the dealership brands.
